Tubular Heat Exchanger At Oil Mill

Tubular (shell-and-tube) heat exchangers are indispensable process equipment widely used in edible oil mills, covering crude oil pretreatment, oil refining, deacidification, deodorization and waste heat recovery processes. Main Working Positions & Functions in Oil Mill Production Line
1. Crude Oil Preheater
Steam heats crude vegetable oil to proper temperature before degumming and neutralization. Improve fluidity of crude oil, enhance separation effect of gum and free fatty acids.
2. Heat Recovery Exchanger (Hot-Refined Oil / Cold Crude Oil)
High-temperature refined oil from deodorizer transfers heat to incoming cold crude oil. Recycle waste heat and cut steam consumption, the most energy-saving unit in oil refining sections.
3. Deodorizer Cooling Heat Exchanger
Cool high-temperature edible oil after deodorization rapidly to stop thermal oxidation, guarantee oil quality and color stability.
4. Washing Water & Bleaching Earth Supporting Heating/Cooling
Control temperature of process water for oil washing and bleaching procedures to maintain stable refining indicators.
5. Condenser for Deodorization Vacuum System
Condense oil vapors and distillate free fatty acids extracted during deodorization; recover valuable by-products and protect vacuum pumps.
Working Principle
Hot medium (steam / hot oil) and cold medium (crude oil / cooling water) flow separately on tube side and shell side. Heat transfers through tube walls to realize medium heating or cooling. Counter-flow design maximizes heat transfer efficiency.
For edible oil grade service, smooth internal surfaces minimize oil residue adhesion and avoid local overheating that deteriorates oil quality.
