What Are The Benefits Of Hydrogen Cooling Over Air Cooling
What are the Benefits of Hydrogen Cooling over Air Cooling?
Hydrogen cooling has significant advantages over air cooling. Firstly, the thermal conductivity of hydrogen is approximately seven times that of air, which means that it is able to transfer heat more efficiently, ensuring that the temperature of the internal components of the generator is reduced quickly. Secondly, the low density of hydrogen reduces the air resistance between the rotor and stator, which improves the mechanical efficiency of the generator and reduces energy consumption. In addition, the low viscosity of hydrogen allows it to flow more smoothly inside the generator, reducing mechanical losses due to the flow of the cooling medium. In contrast, air cooling is simpler, but its thermal conductivity is far less than that of hydrogen, and it is prone to the problem of insufficient heat dissipation in high-power equipment. Therefore, hydrogen cooling is more suitable for high-power, high-efficiency generators.
