Shell And Tube Heat Exchanger in Offshore Oil Platform Cooling System
Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger in Offshore Oil Platform Cooling System
Shell and tube heat exchangers are widely used in seawater cooling applications, especially in the fields of offshore engineering, power plants, petrochemicals, and ships.
The following is an application case of a shell and tube heat exchanger in an offshore oil platform cooling system.
Project Name: Cooling System Upgrade for Offshore Oil Platforms
Background: An offshore oil platform located in a sea area had an old and inefficient cooling system that needed to be upgraded to ensure the safety of the equipment and personnel, as well as to improve energy utilization.
Shell and tube heat exchanger design parameters:
Seawater flow: 5000 m³/h
Cooling water flow: 3000 m³/h
Temperature difference: seawater inlet temperature 25°C, outlet temperature 30°C; cooling water inlet temperature 40°C, outlet temperature 32°C
Shell material: 316 stainless steel
Pipe material: carbon steel
Design pressure: 1.5 MPa
