Oil Cooler OCS-200 For SRB Recirculation Pump
Oil Cooler OCS-200 for SRB Recirculation Pump
The Oil Cooler for SRB (Sulfur Recovery Boiler) Recirculation Pump is a critical component that maintains the proper operating temperature of the pump's lubricating oil, preventing oil degradation and ensuring the pump's long-term, stable operation in high-temperature, corrosive SRB environments.
The SRB recirculation pump operates in harsh conditions-high flue gas temperatures (often 300–500°C) and corrosive sulfur-containing media. Its lubricating oil absorbs heat from moving parts (bearings, gears) during operation, and the oil cooler serves three key roles:
Control Oil Temperature: Keeps lubricating oil within the optimal range (typically 40–60°C). Excessively high oil temperatures thin the oil, reducing its lubricating ability and accelerating oxidation (shortening oil service life).
Protect Pump Components: Prevents overheating of bearings and mechanical seals. High temperatures can cause bearing seizure or seal failure, leading to pump shutdowns and SRB process interruptions.
Maintain Oil Viscosity: Stable temperature ensures consistent oil viscosity, which is critical for forming an effective lubricating film between moving parts, reducing friction and wear.

To select the right oil cooler, focus on four core factors tied to the pump and SRB system:
Pump Heat Load Calculation:
First, calculate the total heat generated by the SRB recirculation pump's lubrication system. Key parameters include:
Pump rated power (kW)
Bearing type (rolling bearings generate more heat than sliding bearings)
Operating speed (higher speed = more friction heat)
Ensure the cooler's rated heat dissipation capacity exceeds the calculated heat load by at least 10% to handle peak pump loads.
Environmental Adaptability:
If the SRB area has high sulfur dust concentrations, choose air-cooled coolers with self-cleaning fins (e.g., fins with a hydrophobic coating) or equip water-cooled coolers with inlet filters to prevent pipe blockages.
For outdoor or exposed installations, add a weatherproof cover (e.g., stainless steel) to shield the cooler from rain, snow, or direct sunlight.
Installation & Space Constraints:
Match the cooler's size and installation type (horizontal/vertical) to the available space near the SRB recirculation pump. Avoid long oil pipelines (max length ≤ 5m) to reduce pressure loss and ensure fast oil circulation.
Ensure the cooler's oil inlet/outlet ports match the pump's lubricating oil pipeline diameter (e.g., DN25, DN40) to avoid flow restrictions.
Control System Compatibility:
Select coolers with temperature control functions (e.g., thermostats, variable-speed fans/pumps) to automatically adjust cooling capacity based on oil temperature. This reduces energy consumption and prevents over-cooling (which increases oil viscosity and energy loss).
