Marine Atmospheric Condensers | Shell-and-Tube Type For Vessel Steam Recovery & Boiler Feedwater System

Marine atmospheric condensers are shell-and-tube heat exchangers working under atmospheric pressure, specially matched for vessel onboard steam auxiliary systems. Different from vacuum main condensers for steam turbines, this equipment processes low-pressure miscellaneous steam, heating return steam and surplus exhaust gas boiler steam, condensing steam into clean condensate for boiler recycling, realizing freshwater recovery and stable steam pipeline pressure control onboard.

Core Working Principle
Low-temperature seawater or fresh cooling water circulates inside the heat transfer tube bundle, while waste steam from oil tank heating, HFO preheaters, cabin heating and exhaust gas boiler overflow steam flows through the shell side.
Heat transfers through tube walls, steam releases latent heat and condenses into liquid condensate, cooled to 65–80°C and flows down to the hot well for storage. Feedwater pumps extract the recovered condensate to supply the boiler, forming a closed water circulation loop. Non-condensable gases mixed in steam are vented automatically to maintain stable heat exchange efficiency.
