How to Determine if a Dry Cooler is Leaking, Clogged, etc.?

In the daily inspection, the following methods can be used to determine whether the high and low temperature dry cooler of the gas generator set has leakage, clogging and other conditions:

For leakage:
Observe the appearance: carefully check the surface of the dry cooler and the connection parts to see if there is obvious liquid oozing, wet traces or dripping phenomenon.
Check the sealing place: focus on the sealing gasket, joints and other parts for any abnormal signs.
For pressure test: you can carry out a certain pressure test to see if there is a rapid pressure drop, which may indicate the presence of leakage.

For clogging:
Temperature difference: Compare the temperature of different parts of the dry cooler, if the local temperature is abnormally high or low, there may be a blockage leading to uneven heat exchange.
Flow observation: If there is a flow monitoring device, check whether there is a significant reduction in the flow of cooling medium.
Import and export differential pressure: detect whether the pressure difference between the import and export of large changes in the differential pressure may mean that there is a blockage.
Listen to the sound: listen carefully to the dry cooler during operation to see if there is any abnormal sound of obstructed airflow.
