Fin & Tubes Heat Exchanger - Generator Air Cooler

Fin & Tubes Heat Exchanger - Generator Air Cooler

Working Principle
The working principle of the fin & tubes heat exchanger is based on three heat transfer methods: conduction, convection, and radiation. When two fluids with different temperatures flow in the heat exchanger, heat is transferred from the high - temperature fluid to the low - temperature fluid through the base tubes and fins. The presence of fins increases the heat transfer area, disturbs the fluid flow, destroys the boundary layer, and strengthens the convective heat transfer, thereby greatly improving the heat exchange efficiency.

Application in Generator Air Coolers
In generator air coolers, fin & tubes heat exchangers are often used in air - to - air coolers. The hot air inside the generator flows through the heat exchanger tubes, and the external ambient air exchanges heat with the hot air inside the tubes through the fins. The heat of the generator is transferred to the external air through the heat exchanger, thereby cooling the generator. Compared with air - to - water coolers, air - to - air coolers using fin & tubes heat exchangers are not limited by water conditions and have lower maintenance costs.
