Engine‑matched Radiator / Remote Dry Cooler For Diesel Generator Sets
Engine‑matched radiator / remote dry cooler for diesel generator sets, covering standby prime‑power diesel genset, containerized diesel generator, industrial emergency power unit. It removes jacket‑water waste heat from diesel engine, ensures stable operating temperature for continuous or standby power output. Available as engine‑mounted integral radiator or remote‑mounted off‑unit dry cooling solution.
> Note: Most diesel gensets adopt single cooling circuit, unlike gas engine HT‑LT dual‑circuit design. For large‑capacity heavy‑duty diesel genset, remote dry cooler is widely used instead of original on‑engine radiator.
Working Principle
Hot jacket water flows through fin‑tube coil; axial fans force ambient air across coil surface to reject heat to atmosphere. Closed glycol‑water circulation loop prevents freezing in cold climate.
Key Design Features for Diesel Genset Radiator
1. Two installation options
- Engine‑mounted radiator: compact, directly coupled to engine fan, for small‑medium diesel genset.
- Remote dry cooler (remote radiator): placed away from engine, for large‑size unit, container genset, power house with limited ventilation space.
2. Heat exchanger coil: copper tube‑aluminum fin standard; SS304 / SS316 fin optional for coastal, dusty, corrosive sites.
3. Fan system: fixed‑speed or EC variable‑speed axial fans, IP54/IP65 motors. Variable speed fan maintains stable water temperature under variable load and ambient temperature, reduces noise and power consumption.
4. Anti‑vibration structure, vibration dampers included, suitable for prime‑load continuous running and frequent start‑stop standby conditions.
5. Complete accessories: lifting lugs, flanges, air vent, drain ports, support steel frame.
6. Adequate heat rejection margin, accounts for high ambient temperature and altitude derating.
7. Adiabatic pad optional for hot regions to improve summer cooling performance.
