Common Types Of Marine Engine Coolers
Common Types of Marine Engine Coolers
1. Water cooler
Seawater cooler: using seawater as cooling medium, transferring the heat generated by the engine to seawater through heat exchanger, suitable for use in marine environment.
Fresh water cooler: using fresh water as cooling medium, suitable for inland vessels or fresh water environment, usually equipped with circulating pump and cooling system.
2. Oil cooler
The temperature of engine oil is lowered by oil cooler to keep the lubricating oil in the proper temperature range, which is conducive to improving the lubrication effect and engine performance.

3. Air cooler
Using air as the cooling medium, suitable for some small or specific types of marine engines, usually cooled by fans or natural ventilation.
4. Heat exchanger
Heat exchanger exchanges cooling water and engine coolant through heat exchanger, commonly used in large ships, can improve the cooling efficiency.
5. Cooling Water Pump
As part of the cooling system, help circulate the cooling water and ensure that the coolant flows between the engine and the cooler.
6. Evaporative cooler
Using the principle of evaporation, the temperature is lowered by the evaporation of water, suitable for use under specific conditions.
