Waste Heat Recovery Heat Exchanger for Steam Turbine in Thermal Power Plant

A thermal power plant turbine waste heat recovery heat exchanger is used to recover the waste heat from the high temperature flue gas discharged from the turbine. In a thermal power plant, coal or gas-fired fuel is burned in a boiler to produce high-temperature and high-pressure steam, which is then converted into mechanical energy by a turbine to drive a generator to produce electricity. The high-temperature flue gas discharged from the turbine contains a large amount of heat energy, which will result in a waste of energy if it is not recycled.

The working principle of heat exchanger for waste heat recovery of steam turbine in thermal power plant is as follows:

Flue gas enters the heat exchanger: the high temperature flue gas discharged from the turbine enters the waste heat recovery device and the heat exchanger through the flue or flue gas pipe.

Flue gas heat exchange: the high-temperature flue gas exchanges heat with the recovery medium (such as water or heat medium) inside the heat exchanger, and the heat energy in the flue gas is transferred to the medium. In the heat transfer process, the temperature of the flue gas decreases, while the temperature of the medium increases.

Medium utilization: The medium in the heat exchanger can be used for heating, evaporation, generating steam or providing hot water after transferring heat energy. The flue gas temperature is lowered and further discharged into the atmosphere.

The following benefits can be realized by recovering the heat exchanger from the turbine waste heat in a thermal power plant:

Improvement of energy utilization efficiency: By recovering the waste heat from the high temperature flue gas discharged from the turbine and transferring the heat energy to other media, the energy utilization efficiency of the thermal power plant can be improved. This reduces fuel consumption and energy costs.

Reduce environmental pollution: the high temperature heat energy in the flue gas, if not recycled, will be directly discharged into the atmosphere, resulting in a waste of energy and environmental pollution. Through the waste heat recovery heat exchanger, the flue gas emissions from combustion can be reduced, causing less impact on the environment.

Cost savings: By improving energy efficiency and reducing fuel consumption, thermal power plants can save energy and operating costs. The investment cost of a waste heat recovery heat exchanger can usually be recovered through energy savings in a relatively short period.
