Shell Tube Type Oil Cooler For Water Generator
The water turbine generator shell-and-tube oil cooler is a heat exchange device designed for water turbine generators. It is primarily used to cool lubricating oil and other oil-based media that generate heat during the generator's operation, ensuring the normal functioning of the generator and extending the service life of its components.
Working Principle: Under pressure, the oil flows into the tube side or shell side of the cooler, while the cooling medium (typically water) flows through the opposite side. Due to the temperature difference between the oil and the cooling medium, heat is transferred from the high-temperature oil through the tube walls to the low-temperature cooling medium, thereby achieving oil cooling. For example, when the oil flows through the tube side and the cooling water flows through the shell side in opposite directions, the heat exchange efficiency is maximized.
Material selection: Tube materials commonly used include stainless steel 304, stainless steel 316L, or titanium. Among these, 304 is suitable for clean water such as freshwater, 316L is suitable for corrosive environments such as low-temperature seawater, and titanium is suitable for more severe conditions such as high-temperature seawater.

High heat dissipation efficiency: By reasonably designing the number of tube bundles, tube diameter, and baffle plate structure, a large heat transfer area can be provided to effectively remove heat from the oil, ensuring that the oil temperature remains within an appropriate range.
Robust and durable structure: The shell-and-tube structure can withstand high pressure and temperature, and the metal materials have good mechanical strength, making them suitable for the vibration and impact conditions encountered during the operation of hydroelectric generators, with a long service life.
Easy maintenance: Some shell-and-tube oil coolers are designed with removable end caps, facilitating inspection and cleaning of the internal tube bundles. When tube bundle failures occur, repairs or replacements can be performed relatively easily.
