Shell Tube Type Generator Oil Cooler

Shell Tube Type Generator Oil Cooler

When the generator is in operation, the hot lubricating oil flows out of the bearings or other heat generating parts of the generator and enters the shell and tube oil cooler. At the same time, the cooling medium (usually water or other cooling liquids) enters the cooler's tube stroke under the drive of a pump.
Since the temperature of the lubricating oil is higher than that of the cooling medium, heat is transferred from the lubricating oil to the cooling medium through the walls of the heat exchanger tubes. In this process, the lubricating oil is cooled and flows back to the generator after the temperature is lowered, continuing to lubricate and cool the relevant parts of the generator. The cooling medium absorbs the heat and then increases in temperature, flows out of the cooler, and enters the subsequent part of the cooling system for heat dissipation treatment in order to be recycled.

Advantages
Efficient heat exchange: the tube and shell structure provides a large heat exchange area, and the design of the folding plate enables the lubricant and cooling medium to fully exchange heat, with a good cooling effect, effectively controlling the temperature of the generator lubricating oil and ensuring the normal operation of the generator.
High reliability: the structure is sturdy, able to withstand high pressure and temperature, adapting to the different operating conditions of the generator. At the same time, the material selection and manufacturing process of each component have been strictly considered, with a longer service life and lower probability of failure.
Convenient maintenance: compared with other types of coolers, the structure of the shell and tube generator oil cooler is relatively simple, which is convenient for daily inspection, maintenance and cleaning. For example, the heat exchanger tubes can be inspected and cleaned by opening the end caps, so that possible clogging or leakage problems can be found and dealt with in time.

Application Scenarios
Thermal power plants: In coal-fired, gas-fired and other thermal power generating units, the generator is usually in a high load operation state, which generates a large amount of heat. Shell and tube generator oil cooler can effectively cool the generator lubricating oil to ensure stable operation of the generator in a high temperature environment, improve power generation efficiency and equipment reliability.
Hydroelectric power station: hydro generator although the operating environment is relatively mild, but in the process of long time operation, also need to cool the generator lubricating oil. Shell and tube oil cooler because of its efficient and stable cooling performance, is widely used in hydroelectric power plant generator cooling system, to ensure the safe operation of generators, extend the service life of the equipment.
Industrial power stations: Many large industrial enterprises have their own power stations to provide electricity for the production process. The generators in these power stations also need a good cooling system when running. Shell and tube generator oil cooler with its adaptability, easy maintenance and other advantages, has become one of the commonly used equipment for generator cooling in industrial self-supplied power stations, to ensure a stable and reliable supply of electricity to the enterprise.
