Natural gas generator sets in the operation process, fuel combustion energy generated by part of the conversion into electricity, and a considerable part of the energy in the form of high-temperature flue gas and high-temperature cylinder liner water dissipation. For high-temperature flue gas, it enters the waste heat recovery equipment through the flue, and the heat is transferred to the medium (e.g., water or heat-conducting oil, etc.) in the heat exchanger. For example, when the high temperature flue gas (temperature can be 400 - 600 ℃) flows through the finned tube heat exchanger, the heat is transferred to the water inside the tube through the fins and the tube wall, so that the temperature of the water rises.

In the case of cylinder liner water, the temperature of the cooling water around the cylinder liner rises as it absorbs heat while the engine is operating, and this hot water can also be transferred to other media that need to be heated by means of specialised heat exchangers.
