Marine Dry Cooler For Vessel Engine Room
Marine-grade dry coolers purpose-built for vessel engine room cooling, designed to handle harsh marine conditions (salt spray, high humidity, vibration). Delivers reliable closed-loop cooling for main engines, generator sets, and auxiliary systems-no seawater contact, zero water consumption, minimal maintenance.
Core Design for Marine Engine Rooms
Marine-Grade Corrosion Resistance: 316L stainless steel coils, epoxy-coated Al-Mg fins, hot-dip galvanized frame with C5-M salt spray protection (3,000+ hours).
Vibration & Shock Proof: Reinforced structure, shock-absorbing mounts, stainless steel fasteners-resists engine vibration and rough seas.
Compact & Space-Saving: Vertical/V-type layout for limited engine room space; self-draining coil design prevents water accumulation.
Dual-Circuit Option: Separate loops for jacket water (80–95°C) and charge-air/lube oil (40–60°C) cooling.
Class-Approved Design: Complies with DNV, ABS, LR marine standards; certified for continuous 24/7 operation.
Key Advantages Over Seawater Cooling
No Seawater Risks
Eliminates corrosion, scaling, biofouling, and leakage from direct seawater contact-avoids pipe damage and unplanned downtime.
Zero Water Consumption
Closed-loop air cooling uses no seawater/freshwater; ideal for long voyages and vessels with limited water reserves.
Stable All-Weather Performance
Unaffected by seawater temperature fluctuations (works reliably at -20°C to +55°C ambient).
Low Maintenance & Cost Savings
No seawater pumps, filters, or anti-fouling systems-only periodic fin cleaning and fan checks.
Reduced Engine Room Footprint
No large seawater piping or heat exchangers; frees space for critical equipment.
Working Principle
A 35% ethylene glycol-water mixture absorbs heat from the engine's jacket water, charge-air cooler (CAC), and lube oil cooler (LOC). The hot coolant flows to the dry cooler's finned coils, where forced air (via marine-grade VFD fans) dissipates heat to the atmosphere. Cooled fluid recirculates in a closed loop, maintaining engine temperatures within safe ranges.
Applications
Ocean-going cargo vessels, container ships, bulk carriers
Offshore support vessels, FPSOs, oil/gas platforms
Luxury yachts, cruise ships, naval vessels
Marine generator sets (main/auxiliary engines)
