Maintenance Method For Remote Horizontal Radiator Of Caterpillar G3520C Natural Gas Generator Set

Caterpillar G3520C is a high-performance natural gas generator set widely used in continuous power generation, cogeneration, and industrial applications. The remote horizontal radiator system plays a crucial role in maintaining the optimal operating temperature of the engine cylinder liner water, intercooler, and turbocharger.

Good maintenance of the radiator can ensure:

• Stable engine performance

• Extend the lifespan of components

• Reduce fuel consumption

• Prevent malfunctions caused by overheating

1.1 Check for leaks

Check for water leaks, coolant or oil leaks at the radiator tank, hoses and joints. Even small leaks can cause coolant loss and overheating.

1.2 Check the fan and drive system

Check if the fan blades have cracks, bends, or damage.

Check if the tension of the fan belt (if equipped) is appropriate, and if there are any slippery surfaces or signs of wear on the surface.

For hydraulic fans, check for leaks in the hydraulic piping and ensure that the fan runs smoothly.

1.3 Checking the coolant level

Check the coolant level in the expansion tank. The liquid level should be between the MIN and MAX markings. Low coolant level indicates leakage or evaporation.

1.4 Checking Airflow

Ensure that the radiator core is not blocked by obstacles (debris, plastic bags, leaves).
