Working Principle
Heat Transfer Method
Convection heat transfer: High-temperature exhaust gas from a gas engine flows through the tube or shell side, while the fluid to be heated (such as air or water) flows in the other side. Through the coupling of the velocity field and temperature field, the high-temperature exhaust gas transfers heat to the low-temperature fluid.
Conduction heat transfer: Heat is transferred from the high-temperature side to the low-temperature side through the tube wall material. The thermal conductivity of the tube wall material directly affects the heat transfer efficiency.
Implementation: High-temperature exhaust gas generated by the gas engine enters the tube or shell side of the shell and tube heat recovery device, exchanging heat with the low-temperature fluid flowing in the other side. For example, in a water heating scenario, water flows within the heat exchange tubes, while exhaust gas flows outside the tubes. Heat from the exhaust gas is transferred through the tube walls to the water inside the tubes, raising the water temperature and thus achieving heat recovery.

Application Scenarios
Power Generation: Used in gas turbine combined cycle power generation systems, it recovers heat from the gas turbine exhaust gas to generate steam to drive the steam turbine, thereby improving the thermal efficiency of the entire power generation system. Industrial Production: In industries like chemical and metallurgy, waste heat can be used to heat process fluids and preheat combustion air, reducing energy consumption and lowering production costs. For example, in steel mills, heat generated by gas engines can be recovered to preheat blast furnace air.
Residential Heating: Waste heat from gas engines can be used to heat residential buildings and commercial buildings, providing hot water and heating. This achieves cascaded energy utilization, improves energy efficiency, and reduces heating costs.
