When the generator is running, the hydrogen absorbs the heat generated by the stator windings, stator core and rotor windings and other components and the temperature rises. High-temperature hydrogen enters the hydrogen cooler and exchanges heat with the coolant (usually water) flowing in the cooler. The coolant absorbs the heat of the hydrogen gas and increases its temperature, while the hydrogen gas is cooled down, thus realizing the cooling of the generator.
The cooled hydrogen is then sent back to the generator through the pipeline to continue to absorb heat, and so on, forming a closed hydrogen cooling cycle system. At the same time, the coolant continuously circulates under the action of the coolant circulation pump to take away the absorbed heat to maintain the cooling effect of the cooler.
Advantages
