Generating Unit Lubricating Oil Cooler
Genset Lubricating Oil Cooler
Used to cool turbine lubricating oil in power plants, this cooler ensures optimal heat transfer from the turbine lubricating oil.
Generator set lubricating oil cooler generally adopts the principle of shell and tube heat exchanger, i.e. heat exchange is realized by letting the lubricating oil and cooling water flow in different passages. The lubricating oil with higher temperature flows out of the turbine and then enters the shell passage of the cooler, flowing outside the heat exchanger tubes; while the cooling water with lower temperature enters the tube passage, flowing inside the heat exchanger tubes. Due to the temperature difference between the lubricating oil and cooling water on both sides of the heat exchanger tube, heat will be transferred from the high-temperature lubricating oil to the low-temperature cooling water, so that the lubricating oil will be cooled to achieve the purpose of reducing the oil temperature.
Shell and tube system: the main part of the cooler, the shell is usually made of metal, such as carbon steel or stainless steel, can withstand a certain pressure and temperature. Tube system consists of numerous heat exchanger tubes, which are generally made of copper, stainless steel or brass tubes with good thermal conductivity.
Upper and lower water chambers: located at both ends of the cooler, the main role is to distribute and collect cooling water. Cooling water enters from the upper water chamber and flows out from the lower water chamber after heat exchange with lubricating oil through the pipe system.
Oil Charge Line: Used to connect the lubricating oil system of the turbine so that the lubricating oil can flow into the cooler for cooling. At the same time, the charging line may be equipped with valves, filters and other components to control the flow of lubricating oil and ensure the cleanliness of the oil.
Sealing device: O-rings, gaskets and other sealing materials are usually used to prevent the lubricating oil and cooling water from leaking to ensure the normal operation of the cooler.
