Turbine Guide Bearing Oil Cooler
When the turbine is running at high speed, the guide bearing will generate a lot of heat due to friction. The cooler takes away the heat generated by the bearing by circulating the cooling oil and prevents the bearing from overheating, avoids the problems of bearing material performance degradation and lubrication failure due to the high temperature, and ensures that the bearing can work in the normal temperature range and prolongs the service life of the bearing.
Excessive temperature will make the lubricating oil oxidized and deteriorated, reduce its lubricating performance and service life. The cooler controls the oil temperature and maintains the viscosity and chemical stability of the lubricant so that it can better form an oil film on the bearing surface, providing good lubrication, reducing bearing wear and also helping to reduce energy loss.
By effectively cooling the bearings and maintaining the performance of the lubricating oil, the cooler helps to ensure the normal operation of the turbine guide bearings, which in turn ensures the stability and reliability of the entire turbine system, reduces turbine shutdowns and damages due to bearing failures, and improves the operational efficiency and availability of the turbine system.

Working Principle
Oil Circulation System: Turbine guide bearing oil coolers usually work through a closed oil circulation system. The lubricating oil is pumped out of the bearing box and passes through the cooler's ducts or passages, where it exchanges heat with a cooling medium (e.g., water or air). The oil temperature is lowered and returned to the bearing box, where it continues to lubricate and cool the bearings.
Heat exchange mechanism: inside the cooler, mainly through convection and conduction to achieve heat exchange. Take the common tube cooler as an example, the hot oil flows in the tube, the cooling medium flows outside the tube, the two through the wall of the tube for heat transfer, so that the hot oil temperature is reduced. In the case of air-cooled coolers, a fan is used to blow cold air across the heat sink, taking away the heat transferred from the hot oil to the heat sink.
Applications
Electric power industry: in thermal power generation, hydropower generation and other power stations, it is used for cooling the guide bearing of the turbine to ensure the normal operation of the turbine and improve the efficiency and reliability of power generation.
Aerospace industry: In aircraft engines, aviation turbines and other equipment, turbine guiding bearing oil cooler is vital to ensure the performance and safety of the engine, which can effectively cool the bearings under extreme working conditions such as high temperature and high speed to ensure the stable operation of the engine.
Industrial field: in various industrial production of turbine machinery, such as compressors, blowers, gas turbines and other equipment, used to cool the guiding bearings, to ensure the continuous and stable operation of the equipment, improve production efficiency and product quality.
