Heat Exchanger Cooling Skid Plate Type For Marine Generator Set Sea Water Application
Our plate‑type heat exchanger cooling skid delivers reliable seawater‑based thermal management for marine generator sets, built to handle harsh salty‑water operating conditions onboard vessels and offshore facilities.

Unlike land‑based cooling skids, marine genset cooling systems face severe challenges: seawater corrosion, galvanic erosion, vessel vibration, space constraints and strict safety requirements. Direct seawater contact with engine components will cause rapid fouling, pitting corrosion and costly engine damage. This plate heat exchanger cooling skid creates a physical barrier: seawater flows on one side of plates, while engine ethylene‑glycol coolant circulates on the other side. Perfect fluid isolation keeps seawater away from expensive marine generator engines.
Customers can select titanium plates or Cu‑Ni 90/10 plate material for the seawater side, providing outstanding anti‑corrosion performance against chloride‑rich seawater. The skid supports dual‑circuit HT‑LT configuration, independently cooling high‑temperature jacket‑water loop and low‑temperature charge‑air intercooler loop of marine gensets. Independent loop temperature control stabilizes engine output and reduces knock risk for continuous marine power generation.
Standard scope includes seawater‑side circulation pumps, engine‑side dual pumps with auto failover, motorized 3‑way mixing valve, expansion tank, marine‑rated sensors and PLC control system. The system monitors temperature, pressure, flow rate and generates alarms for abnormal working conditions. The whole unit is assembled on heavy‑duty anti‑vibration skid base, adopting marine‑standard piping and fittings to adapt to ship shaking and salty‑humid atmosphere.
All skids are pre‑piped, pre‑wired and pressure‑leak tested in‑house before delivery. On‑board installation only needs seawater pipeline connection, genset coolant loop docking and power hook‑up. We can supply drawings and technical documents for marine class survey upon request.
Typical applications: cargo ships, work boats, fishing vessels, offshore platforms, floating power units and barge‑mounted generator systems. Custom sizing is available according to genset heat‑rejection data, seawater temperature range and class requirements.
We design and manufacture heavy‑duty cooling skids for land and marine generator sets. Our marine cooling portfolio covers seawater‑cooled plate heat exchanger skids for onboard gensets, with optional titanium and copper‑nickel wetted parts. Standard and custom engineered solutions are available for global marine & offshore projects.
