Generator Air Cooler Design

Generator air coolers (also known as generator charge air coolers / generator stator air‑water coolers) are core heat exchange components for diesel/gas generator sets, responsible for cooling turbo‑charged intake air or generator internal circulating air, lowering intake temperature, improving power output and reducing engine thermal load. VRCOOLER provides standard & custom‑built generator air coolers per drawing or old sample dimension, 1:1 replacement for original units.

Key Design Parameters

Heat Duty: kW, calculated based on generator power (kW/MW)

Working Medium: Charge air / circulating generator internal air; cooling medium: water / mixed glycol‑water

Air Side: Inlet air temp, outlet air temp, allowable air pressure drop

Water Side: Design pressure, inlet water temperature, flow rate, water‑side pressure drop

Material Options:Tube: copper, cupronickel Cu‑Ni, stainless steel; Fins: aluminum / copper; Shell: carbon steel / stainless steel

Design Standard: Pressure vessel requirements, anti‑vibration for generator running condition
