Exhaust gas recirculation coolers are a type of equipment used to control the temperature and purification of industrial exhaust emissions. These coolers are commonly used to treat hot exhaust gases or pollutants generated during industrial processes to reduce their temperature and minimize adverse effects on the environment.
Design Features and Functions
Temperature reduction and purification: the main function of an exhaust gas recirculation cooler is to reduce the temperature of industrial exhaust gases and treat the pollutants contained therein using a purification device to meet environmental standards.
Heat exchanger: usually includes a heat exchanger section that reduces the temperature of the exhaust gases by transferring heat from the exhaust gases to a cooling medium (e.g. water or air).
Purification unit: may include filters, absorbers, catalysts, etc., to reduce the level of pollutants such as particulate matter, organics, nitrogen oxides, sulfides, etc. in the exhaust gas.
Recirculation systems: Recirculate some or all of the treated exhaust gases back into the production process to save energy and reduce emissions.
Anti-corrosive materials: Since the exhaust gas may contain corrosive components, the cooler is usually manufactured with corrosion-resistant materials, such as stainless steel or special alloys.
Automatic control: An automatic control system is available to monitor and regulate the exhaust gas temperature, flow rate and purification effect.
Applications
Industrial production: such as steel, chemical, electric power and other industries, exhaust gas recirculation cooler is used to deal with furnace top exhaust gas, combustion exhaust gas, etc.
Oil refineries: Used to treat the hot exhaust gas and sulfurous exhaust gas produced in the oil refining process to reduce the pollution to the environment.
Incineration facilities: Used to treat hot exhaust gases and pollutants from waste incineration.
