Dry Cooler For Large Air Compressor System
Dry Coolers for Large Air Compressor Systems
Role of the dry cooler
Cooling
The temperature of compressed air discharged from the air compressor can be more than 100℃; the dry cooler can reduce it to about 40℃ by air cooling or water cooling to avoid high temperature damage to the back-end equipments (e.g. dryer, filter).
Pre-treatment of dehumidification
After cooling, the water vapor in the air condenses to liquid water, which is discharged through the separator, significantly reducing the load of the subsequent adsorption/refrigeration dryer.
Energy saving and efficiency
Pre-cooling improves dryer efficiency, reduces regeneration energy (especially for adsorption dryers) and extends filter cartridge life.
Application Scenarios
Manufacturing industry: spraying, pneumatic tools and other moisture-sensitive links;
Chemical/Pharmaceutical: avoiding compressed air contamination of processes;
Energy sector: gas turbine auxiliary air systems.
