Designer And Manufacturer For Remote Charge Air Cooler

A remote intercooler is a cooling device for the air intake system of an internal combustion engine (especially a diesel engine) whose core function is to cool the hot intake air (charge air) compressed by the turbocharger in order to increase intake air density, increase engine power output, and reduce emissions. Unlike a conventional intercooler, which is integrated near the engine, "remote" means that it is usually mounted away from the engine (e.g. at the front end of the vehicle, next to the radiator, or in a separate ventilated area), and connected to the engine supercharger and intake manifold via piping.

How it works

High temperatures in pressurized air:

A turbocharger uses exhaust gas energy to drive an impeller to compress the intake air, a process that causes the air temperature to rise significantly (typically up to 150-250°C). The high temperature air density decreases, which leads to a reduction in the actual air intake of the engine, a decrease in combustion efficiency, and may lead to engine overheating, vibration and other problems.

Cooling effect:

Remote intercoolers cool high temperature charge air to 80-120°C (depending on the cooling medium and design) by heat exchange. The cooled air is denser and carries more oxygen into the combustion chamber, allowing the fuel to burn more fully, resulting in increased power (typically 10%-20% more power) and a reduction in harmful emissions such as nitrogen oxides (NOx).

Advantages of Remote Layout:

Being away from engine heat sources (e.g., exhaust, cylinder block) avoids interference with cooling effects due to high ambient temperatures, and allows for more flexible use of vehicle or equipment ventilation space (e.g., front of large trucks, sides of construction machinery) for more adequate cooling airflow.
