The tube bundle is the key component of a shell and tube heat exchanger. Shell and tube heat exchangers consist of a shell (the large outer vessel) and a series of tubes (the smaller inner vessel) through which the fluid flows. The tube bundle is the assembly of these smaller tubes within the shell.

Tubes:
The tubes are the primary channels through which the fluid flows. These tubes are typically made of materials that facilitate efficient heat transfer, such as copper, stainless steel, or other heat-conductive alloys.
Tubes are arranged in a pattern within the shell, and their configuration can affect heat transfer efficiency.

Tube Sheets:
Tube sheets are located at both ends of the tube bundle and are responsible for holding the tubes in place. They are usually thick metal sheets that have holes drilled or punched to accommodate the tubes.

Baffles:
Baffles are placed inside the shell and direct the fluid flow over the tube surfaces. They create turbulence to enhance heat transfer between the fluid inside the tubes and the fluid surrounding the tubes in the shell.
