Custom Double-Tube Transformer Oil/Water Cooler
Custom double‑tube transformer oil‑water coolers are specialized shell‑and‑tube heat exchangers designed for forced cooling of transformer insulating oil. The double‑tube structure provides an extra safety barrier to prevent water‑to‑oil leakage, a critical safety requirement for power transformers. VRCOOLER delivers fully custom‑engineered units, built to customer specifications, transformer datasheets or retrofitting dimensions for new‑build and replacement projects.
Working Principle
Hot transformer insulating oil flows through the annular gap between inner and outer tubes. Cooling water runs inside the inner tube. Heat transfers from transformer oil to cooling water. The double‑wall tube construction isolates oil and water circuits. If inner tube develops pinhole leakage, water will not enter the transformer oil loop, protecting transformer insulation from water contamination.
