Copper Tube Fixed Type Shell And Tube Heat Exchanger For Oil Cooling
Copper Tube Fixed Type Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger for Oil Cooling
A copper tube fixed-type shell and tube heat exchanger is a highly efficient thermal device widely used for industrial oil cooling. By forcing hot oil through the outer shell and cold water through the inner copper tubes, it reliably removes extreme operating heat from hydraulic, engine, and transmission oils.
How It Works
Heat Transfer: Hot oil flows through the outer cylindrical shell while a cooler fluid (typically water or an air-water mix) passes through the copper tubes.
Copper Tubes: Copper is heavily favored in this application because of its superior thermal conductivity, allowing it to rapidly dissipate heat from viscous fluids.
Baffles: Internal baffle plates in the shell force the oil to flow in a turbulent, serpentine path across the tube bundle, preventing stagnant zones and maximizing overall cooling efficiency.
Fixed Tube-Sheet: The tube bundles are permanently welded or expanded directly into the shell's tube sheets. This straightforward, cost-effective design handles high-pressure applications well but prevents the tube bundle from being removed for mechanical cleaning.
