Bearing Oil Cooler Working Principle
A bearing oil cooler is a common bearing cooling device used to control the operating temperature of bearings and improve bearing life and performance. It absorbs and distributes the heat generated by the bearing by directing the cooling oil flow through the bearing.
The working principle of bearing oil cooler is as follows:
Oil circulation system: Bearing oil coolers are usually combined with a lubrication system that uses lubricating oil to cool the bearings. The lubricating oil is pumped through the system to the bearings where it is cooled by the bearing cooler and then returned to the lubrication system.
Cooling oil selection: Cooling oil is usually a specially designed high heat capacity oil with good thermal conductivity. It is able to absorb the heat generated by the bearing and conduct it quickly to the cooler.
Radiator: Bearing oil coolers usually include a radiator, which is used to increase the cooling surface area and accelerate heat dissipation. The radiator usually consists of a number of metal sheets or tubes to increase the contact area between the cooling oil and the surrounding air to facilitate heat transfer.

Cooling Oil Flow: After passing through the bearings, the cooling oil flows through the radiator and transfers heat to the surrounding air through contact with the cooler surface. Cooling oil flow can be achieved by pumps or natural convection.
Temperature control: Bearing oil coolers typically include a temperature sensor and control system to monitor and control the temperature of the cooling oil. When the temperature exceeds a set threshold, the control system can trigger appropriate operations, such as activating a cooling fan or regulating the cooling oil flow, to ensure that the bearings are within a safe temperature range.
The use of bearing oil cooler can effectively control the working temperature of bearings, reduce friction and wear, extend the service life of bearings, and improve the reliability and performance of the system. It is widely used in many industrial fields and mechanical equipment.
